Andria B. Lesane
Engineer & Data Scientist
MY STORY
I am an engineer, data scientist, and problem-solver who loves building systems that make complex science work smarter. Today I’m a Senior Application Engineer at Ansys, partnering with customers to architect simulation and data platforms that support real-world research and product development. Before Ansys, I worked as a Materials Engineer at DENSO, learning the language of metals, testing labs, and material development, and later as a Consulting Engineer at Hexagon, where I implemented enterprise data solutions for teams in automotive, aerospace, energy, and government research.
I hold a Master of Applied Data Science from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering from NC State University. My work is rooted in the intersection of data science, machine learning, and engineering, particularly within Materials Informatics and ICME. I love turning messy, scientific data into clarity, insights, and tools that move research forward.
When I’m not building data and engineering systems, you’ll find me baking something new, gaming, gardening, watching movies, or creating art. Creative outlets keep me balanced and inspired.
